Allysa Dittmar, MHS is the first Deaf graduate of the Johns Hopkins University, summa cum laude. As a health communication and public policy professional, Allysa has set up non-profits and private companies in the pursuit of achieving equitable and accessible healthcare. Allysa co-founded ClearMask LLC, a portfolio company under the State of Maryland’s Technology Economic Development Corporation, to develop a full-face transparent surgical mask to improve accessibility and care for different population groups. Most recently, she was a research associate at Gallaudet University’s Deaf Health Communication and Quality of Life, assisting with research on public health outcomes among the deaf and hard of hearing population, as well as healthcare policy. At the Maryland Governor’s Office of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing as a politically-appointed policy manager, Allysa spearheaded accessibility, healthcare disability compliance, and health policy initiatives.
