Philly Tech Week is a week-long celebration of technology and innovation happening throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. There’s something for everyone! The 9th Annual Philly Tech Week took place May 3 - 11, 2019.

Track Conferences

Philly Tech Week is organized into 7 different tracks (Creative, Access, Dev, Civic, Business, Media and Sciences). You can search for events that match your interests by clicking on one of the track icons.

Alex Lin

Alex leads the Grubhub big data infrastructure and platform teams. He has over 10 years of experience building and scaling big data and machine learning platforms. Prior to joining Grubhub, he worked as principal architect for Intelligent Mining where he worked on a number of big data and machine learning projects. Alex is a subject matter expert of all things data at Grubhub and he's passionate about building data solutions that help the business excel.

YaYa Horne

YaYa owns and operates Tiny Room for Elephants, a network of creatives that produces art and music experiences year round.

She is an Experience Producer and Partnership Expert who specializes in linking creatives with opportunity and brands with culture.

Her portfolio is diverse and contains a wide range of work for lifestyle brands like Champion, Sony, Live Nation and Red Bull.

YaYa's favorite past time is perusing the city in search of her latest "art crush"

Todd Escalona

As a Solutions Architect Evangelist, Todd spends his time working directly with his customers and partners on a global basis, while listening to understand their goals and working backwards from there. He defines requirements, provides architectural guidance around specific use cases, and assists in designing applications and services that are scalable, reliable, and performant. Outside of speaking at public events and hosting hackathons, Todd’s interests spread across various technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and serverless event driven architectures.

Caloua Lowe

Caloua Lowe, a Hopeworks alumni, recently joined SEER Interactive as an alumni and now works as a permanent contractor at storied digital marketing agency.

Caloua Lowe learned about Hopeworks through a friend. When she started the program, she was unemployed, living with an aunt, and had a desire for change and independence. Growing up, her home life was difficult as her mom struggled with a mental illness and her father was incarcerated. Caloua stepped into the role of caregiver and helped support her family during these difficult times. She made the decision to live with her aunt so that she could begin her own journey to stability. Her motivation for starting the training was to strengthen her knowledge and build experience in graphic design.

Caloua’s journey was even featured in Wired Magazine!

Ben Greene is a regional technical leader at Snowflake. His background is in the design, development, implementation of distributed / multi-tiered software infrastructure for data warehousing & analytics, machine learning, enterprise search, and unstructured data analytics related to text, video, video, imagery and audio.

Jonathan Hollander

Jon has more than 20 years of experience in the data technology space across various industries and disciplines. He has led application development teams in the big data, business intelligence, and campaign management domains for both on-premise and software as a service (SaaS) deployment models, and has deep experience in portfolio and project management and data center operations.

In November 2017, Jon joined TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank, as Head of Information Management. In this role on the U.S. Technology Solutions team, Jon provides data strategy and implementation services in support of the bank's analytics and reporting capabilities. He also is accountable for all aspects of information management technology — from solution design and delivery through production support and operations. Prior to joining TD Bank, Jon served as Senior Director, Enterprise Data Management and Analytic Platforms, for CVS Health, where he was responsible for driving the planning and implementation of the company’s enterprise data strategy and data platforms. He also led campaign management operations for CVS/Caremark.

Jon graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
